| The STEM Academy was built by teachers, for teachers. Our development team consists of 22 professional educators from the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics who worked together with researchers and college level staff to design a comprehensive 6-12 program that is also linked to post secondary educational institutions. All of our course content and materials has been created and approved by our development team of professional educators. Teachers and students use the same tools utilized by industry professionals in engineering design, civil engineering and architecture, robotics, electronics, material science and bio-technology. Program Director: Dr. Alan Gomez is currently an Engineering Instructor and CTE coordinator in the Sun Prairie Area School District, and lecturer at the University of Wisconsin in the College of Engineering. Dr. Gomez has been a reviewer for the ASEE conference proceedings and the National Science Foundation. Dr. Gomez recently sat on the National Academy of Engineering’s committee that was charged with "Understanding and Improving K-12 Engineering Education in the United States". |
