Academic program tracks for mechanical, architecture and civil prepare students for industry and software certification. The STEM Academy enables students to develop a digital portfolio to include: resume, certifications, design projects and research completed. Open the doors of opportunity for your students today with The STEM Academy.

SolidWorks CSWA

As a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA), you will stand out from the crowd in today’s competitive job market. CSWA certification is proof of your SolidWorks® expertise - cutting-edge skills that businesses seek out and reward.

SolidWorks CSWP

A Certified SolidWorks Professional is an individual that has successfully passed our advanced skills examination. Each CSWP has proven their ability to design and analyze parametric parts and moveable assemblies using a variety of complex features in SolidWorks.

All candidates receive electronic certificates, business card logos and personal listing on CSWP directory when they pass.

ArchiCAD Certification

Participants in the ArchiCAD Competency Challenge will take a multiple-choice test which examines their understanding of the Virtual Building concept, as well as knowledge of ArchiCAD functions. Fifty questions are randomly assigned from a database; for each question, the correct answer must be chosen from among four choices. While taking the test, participants get ninety seconds to answer each question. If they do not submit an answer within ninety seconds, that question disappears, and they are prompted to proceed to the next question.

Bentley Learning Credits

Through Bentley Institute students/instructors can complete online courses of study for all Bentley software titles. The course of study features a blended learning approach combining video tutorial training with hands on application. Learning Credits from Bentley Institute are recognized by Bentley commercial software users.

Industry Certification

ADDA Industry Certification for Mechanical

The STEM Academy includes the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) Mechanical Certification Test Guides for instructor + student exam preparation. Instructor or Academic Program Certification would enable the school or instructor to proctor student certification exams.

The ADDA provides academic institutions a certification program with a proven methodology for effective measurement of instructor and student industry competencies. Certification programs are available for the areas of architecture, mechanical, civil as well as general drafting and design, not on their knowledge of a particular software program. ADDA Certification empowers students by authenticating their capabilities to colleges, universities and prospective employers.

Mentor program
The STEM Academy has partnered with the ACE Mentor Program of America to provide a unique opportunity for students to work with mentors from local professional firms. Students are discovering the rewarding opportunities available to them as architects, interior designers, engineers, construction managers and related design professionals first hand. There are already more than 1,100 participating high schools and 11,000 students in the United States.

ACE is an acronym for architecture, construction, and engineering. The program’s mission is to enlighten and increase the awareness of high school students to career opportunities in architecture, construction and engineering and related areas of the design and construction industry through mentoring; and to provide scholarship opportunities for students in an inclusive manner reflective of the diverse school population.

ACE is a unique partnership among industry professionals - architects, interior designers, engineers, construction managers, college and university representatives, and other professionals from related corporations and professional organizations - who work together to attract young people to their professions. Industry professionals volunteer to become mentors to high school students in order to introduce them to the professions and encourage them to pursue studies and careers in these fields. In return, the industry gets a much-needed boost of new talent.

ACE is made up of affiliates that serve youth within a certain city or region. Each affiliate has a board of directors, a local coordinator, and a number of teams.

Teams are composed of 15-25 students and their industry mentors. Each team is set up to emulate an actual design team, with students guided through a mock design project by their architect, engineer, and construction management mentors. Several companies will be assigned to each team, each providing one or two mentors. Mentors guide the students as they work towards a final project, introducing them to the careers, industry vocabulary, and various roles companies play in the construction industry.
